BOW WOW!! BOW WOW!! Join us SATURDAY, AUGUST 25, 2012 ~ 10am to 2pm in the SEVANANDA PARKING LOT for DOG DAYS OF SUMMER as we declare NATIONAL VEGAN HOT DOG DAY!! This is a fundraiser for PAWS Atlanta (a no-kill shelter). There will be a Vegan Hot Dog cookout with vendors, raffles for a Magna Mountain Bike and a Weber Grill (proceeds to PAWS), and a DOG WASH!! Our canine friends will have a chance to sample locally made doggy treats from BIG DADDY BISCUITS, organic pet food from WELLNESS and CASTOR & POLLUX and more. Humans will get to buy and rate vegan hot dogs to select the Best Dog in Show and purchase ice cream, popcorn and more from local vendors. Its gonna be BIG FUN for you and your best friend!!
MEMBER MEETINGS
Member Meetings are held twice per year. Twice a year Members connect with each other and the Board of Directors to get updates on the state of the co-op, current trends, issues and concerns, and to clarify the future vision of the co-op. In the spring Board of Directors candidate speeches are heard, voting begins and Member linkage occurs. In the fall, nominating committee nominations take place, and Member linkage continues. Hear candidate statements, vote, eat, mix and mingle.
ELECTIONS were held in-store (9am to 9pm daily) and via mail in ballot and we are awaiting the results. Hope you voted so your voice can be heard!
MIXERS/HEALTHY HAPPY HOUR
Join us for our Taste of Sevananda monthly mixers! Sample new products or delicious existing ones, hear from our expert wellness partners,chat with Board Members, GM or staff, purchase artwork from our Artist Alliance Members, listen to their music performances, or hear from our community partners about the great work they are doing in the community. It’s a great way to get a social taste of Sevananda and get to know each other outside of shelf stocking and ringing phones. Mixers are held the last Thursday of each month at select community locations throughout Metro Atlanta. Join us! Free for Members. Non-members are welcome with a $5 admission. Sevananda In-Store Fairs are sponsored by Sevananda’s School of Commonhealth and Journey To Wellness educational empowerment series. Each fair includes a monthly showcase of food demos and product sampling, Wellness, Local, Eco/Green Friendly, and Kids/Youth focused products and services. MEATLESS MONDAYS
Join raw food chef and Sevananda working member, Joi Bostic, as she offers tastings of delectable raw food meals and desserts every Monday. Recipes available. Mondays 12-3pm Chef Joi. Chef Akil is on sabbatical.
RAW WEDNESDAYS
Every Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm Sevananda working member, Tassili Ma’at of TASSILI’S RAW REALITY will demo her yummy food. Then in the evening from 5pm to 8pm Chef Laura of LIVING FOODS INSTITUTE offers delicious raw food samples.
